Profit-sharing is one of the most valuable benefits of joining the SIAA network.
Insurance carriers use a part of their underwriting profits to encourage sales and motivate independent agents to sell their products instead of the competition. While profit-sharing typically has additional requirements that go above and beyond commissions, agencies that meet them essentially get a bonus for the same work.
For example, a carrier may offer a bonus of 1.5% if yearly sales reach $1,500,000 and the loss ratio is greater than 50%. This calculates to an extra $22,500 on top of existing paid commissions.
Most agents do not reach over a million in sales per year. That’s why it’s so advantageous to belong to SIAA — we work TOGETHER to achieve the requirements and share the profits.
